For those of you attending OSCON 2009 in San José today, there are three talks of particular interest to R users:
- At 2:35PM Danese Cooper will be a member of the panel discussion on Open Source / Open Government.
- At 4:30PM Danese and I will present R we f#¢$ed? Why We Don't Understand Risk, and How it Dooms Us All, to introduce R to the open-source world at large.
- At 5:20PM Mike Driscoll will showcase R's power in Open Source Analytics: Visualization and Predictive Modeling of Big Data with the R Programming Language
- Mike Driscoll is leading a StackOverflow Flash Mob for the R User Community, with the goal of creating a resource of answered R questions on stackoverflow.com. With the rapid development of the R community I'm sure we'll be seeing more initiatives like this to create crowdsourced resources for R in the future (...he says mysteriously...)
- I'll be running a BOF session on R tomorrow at 8PM, but it doesn't seem to be listed yet -- I'll update the link here with the location when it is.
