At the August meeting of the New York R User Group, Drew Conway gave a detailed presentation on social network analysis with R. His presentation began with an overview of the SNA software available, but focused mainly on the packages and graphical tools for SNA in R. In particular there were some nice examples of visualizing social networks with the igraph package, and the results of analyzing those networks with ggplot2.
