Data Science is the methodology of extracting data, encoding data and understanding data for business intelligence use. It affects BI greatly.

BI *isn't* relational. Much of the data resides "in" RDBMS, but the schemas used (star, snowflake, and the like) are about as anti-Codd as one can get. This mistaken idea is common, however.
