The campaign to re-elect US president Barack Obama is hiring -- and the RDataMining blog noticed that several of the open positions seek R skills. Well. I did talk to some of these apparatchiks a few months back. Won't say which ones or organization; suffice to say they're in the orbit of the POTUS.
I expected to talk about data, databases, stats, and graphs; R specifically. They, it turned out, were in love with Rails and yammered on for hours; lipstick folks, not pig folks. While there may be some folks in the orbit who do get R, not all do.
