I am missing mapR Hadoop distribution in your post. Works very well with all Revolution Hadoop packages: http://www.mapr.com/blog/harness-the-power-of-r-and-hadoop

This is a great move, and one more innovation from the company that brought us RevoScaleR, 64 bit R, foreach, and others. Maybe you should write a best of Revo- hits post for all the things that have been introduced.
