I believe that the Bioconductor updates are issued semi-annually, rather than biannually.

Bioconductor releases are issued twice a year. Since R has moved to annual releases, only one of our annual releases is coincident with a release of R.

Biannual can mean both twice a year or once every two years ;-)

Weird! Per the wiki, biannual is twice a year, biennial is every other year, and biweekly is every other week, except in the UK! ;-) indeed!
