The sixth international workshop on Directions in Statistical Computing (DSC 2009) will take place July 13-14th next year in Copenhagen, Denmark. This conference started out as a meeting of the core R Project members and other developers in R, but has since broadened its scope to statistical computing in general.
Unlike the larger UseR! conference, DSC focuses more on the development of statistical computing platforms, rather than simply the application of statistical computing tools. This makes it very focused and collegial affair, not least because a high proportion of the attendees also give presentations. For those that wish to attend and/or present, the web interface for registration and submission of abstracts is now open. For presenters, the deadline for abstract submission is March 15; for attendees the early registration ends on May 1.
