A new R Users Group has formed in Los Angeles, and their inaugural meeting is already scheduled for May 7. There's a great set of speakers and topics lined up for that meeting:
- Using R in research (Jan de Leeuw, UCLA)
- Using R in applications related to credit card transactions (Szilard Pafka, Epoch)
- Using R in teaching (Rob Gould, UCLA)
- Using R in consulting (Brigid Brett-Esborn, UCLA)
In addition to the usual Q&A there will also be opportunity for general discussions and networking. Also, for those looking to get a jump-start in using R there will be a free 2-hour R training session just before the meeting.
