The analyst firm IDC has increased its estimate of the growth of the open-source market to a 22.4% compound annual growth rate, forecasting a market size of $8.1billion in 2013. But as Matt Asay reports, the real news here is that analyst firms are now taking commercial open-source vendors seriously and including them along side proprietary vendors in their reports. Gartner, for example, recently included an open-source vendor in its famous Magic Quadrant. Nice to see open-source finally getting the recognition it deserves from the analyst community.
thanks for sharing a good piece of information
