The source code for R 2.9.2 is now available and propagating through the CRAN mirrors. Binary releases will be available soon (update: looks like the Windows binaries are available now). As we mentioned last week, this is mainly a bug-fix release. The full list of changes is available in the NEWS file, but the more significant differences are:
- Improved flexibility for interpolation rules in approx and approxfun
- agrep can handle more complex regular expressions (on some 32-bit systems)
- More efficient PDF graphics generation when using the Symbol font
- P-value significance stars now given in ANOVA tables for Poisson and Binomial GLMs
- Improved accuracy for extreme tails of the pbeta function (in log-scale mode)
- Several bug fixes to eliminate memory corruption and crashes in unusual cases
