What if those lottery scratch cards had to tell the truth?
There's more at cracked.com (some with NSFW language), along with some quite sensible analysis of the odds of playing the lotto (for a comedy site, anyway). Reminds me a bit of the Bulgarian lotto coincidence.
Personally, I'm don't play the lotto or scratchcards, but I do enjoy blackjack and the slot machines at the casino. (Hey, I like blinking lights.) Yes, I know that my expected winnings are negative. But I when I calculate the average dollar/hour loss, it seems like good value for my entertainment dollar to me.
