One of the offhand comments I noted from Peter Aldhous's talk on Data Driven Journalism yesterday was that it's possible to infer racial profiles of regions with the New York Times' Netflix interactive infographic. (Look at Milk in Washington DC, for example.) But Peter has just pointed out to me that the Times has just released a new infographic that lets you look at spatial ethnic patterns directly, with its new Mapping America: Every City, Every Block tool. Here's a screenshot of New York City:
It's interesting to compare that image to, say, Oklahoma City.
