The CTO of Revolution Analytics, David Champagne, published an article at TDWI earlier this week looking at the rise of "Data Science" as a new (or newly-named, at least) discipline. In the article, he quotes several statisticians and data analysts to find out what the term "Data Science" really means. Perspectives from Nathan Yau (FlowingData), Drew Conway (Dataist and creator of the Data Science Venn Diagram), Mike Driscoll (Dataspora blog), and statisticians from Bank of America, CardioDX and Mu Sigma provide colour to the meaning of Data Science. Blogger Susan Hall provides a response at ITBusinessEdge.
