With all the horrors of Nature's power on display recently, here's an incredible video to remind us of the uplifting, awesome side of the natural world. This fly-by of Saturn is not computer-generated imagery: it's actual photographs from the Cassini mission, linked together to create this stunning video. The way the moons are all lined up in the beginning looks like a beauty shot from a Star Trek opening sequence, but it's all real. And as reader Barry Rowlingson quips, the shot of Mimas at 1:30 looks like a scene from Star Wars: "That's no moon!". Ah, but it is.
Be sure to play in full-screen and HD for the full effect. You can support the non-profit art project that created this film at www.outsideinthemovie.com.
