The next minor update to R — version 2.15.2 "Trick or Treat" — will be released on October 26, R-core member Peter Dalgaard announced today. You can find the planned updates in the current NEWS file (scroll down to the section 'CHANGES IN R VERSION 2.15.1 patched'; the changes at the top of the file are planned for the next major release).
The changes will include:
- New statistical analysis method: Multistratum MANOVA
- Improved support for Polish language users
- Improved performance and reduced memory usage for some commonly-used functions including array, rep, tabulate and hist
- Increased memory available for data on 64-bit systems (increased to 32Gb from 16Gb)
- Several minor bugfixes
R 2.15.2 is currently undergoing testing, and you can test it yourself by downloading the R-patched sources.
