Welcome to another Friday and another post about illusions (yes, I'm a bit obsessed). I recently discovered Brusspups' Youtube Channel, and it's packed with dozens of practical illusions created by the artist. There's a great collection of anamorphic illusions using tape, string, lights and other simple materials to make "impossible" designs when viewed from a specific perspective:
By the way, if you like this kind of illusion I can heartily recommend Jonathan Blow's new game The Witness (available for Windows on Steam). In addition to being a beautiful game with some very clever puzzles, It also includes ... and this may be considered a minor spoiler, so stop reading if you want to discover it for yourself ... also includes anamorphic puzzles like this all around the world. They're great fun to discover, and pop up in some very surprising places!
One other tip if you're interested in this game: if you have an old Xbox 360 controller with a wired USB connection, plug it in first! It's much easier to navigate the world with a controller than a keyboard.
That's all from us this week. Enjoy your weekend, and join us back here for more on Monday!
